
Huskies Steady In Opening Round At Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – The Washington women's golf team opened play for the Chevron Silverado Showdown on Monday, finishing the first round in seventh place at eight-over par.
Vivian Lu led the way for the Huskies, recording six birdies in her opening round at Silverado Country Club, including back-to-back birdies on holes 8 and 9. She ended the day with a one-under 71 to sit in a tie for sixth on the individual leaderboard.
Athena Ni followed with a steady round of 74, shooting 38 on the front and 36 on the back to sit in a tie for 30th. Amber Li finished close behind in third for the Huskies, tying for 38th after round one with a score of three-over par.
Carmen Lim and Wendy Tang each finished at four-over par, rounding out the Husky scoring in a tie for 46th.
Washington will return to action Tuesday morning, teeing off at 8:42 a.m. alongside California, Oregon, and Oregon State off hole one at Silverado CC & Resort.
