SEATTLE – Washington softball clinched the series over Wisconsin with a 6-2 victory on Saturday afternoon at Husky Softball Stadium.

The Huskies improve to 28-9, 6-2 Big Ten on the season.

Stevie Hansen got the start in the circle, going 4.2 innings with one run allowed with four strikeouts. Rylee Rehbein (2-1) had a season-high six strikeouts in relief to pick up her second win of the season.

For the second game in a row, Wisconsin got on the board first via an RBI single by Kendra Lewis in the first inning.

Washington responded in the bottom half of the inning with two runs as Ava Carroll led off with a single and Aleix DeBoer followed with her first career triple. Jadyn Glab drove in DeBoer on an RBI groundout to take the lead.

Glab led off the bottom of the fifth with her 11th home run of the season. Walks to Alycia Flores and Tia Durst brought up pinch-hitter Charity Sevaaetasi who sent her fourth home run of the season into Lake Washington to extend the Washington lead to five.

Wisconsin was able to bring in a run in the top of the seventh, but Sophia Ramuno came in struck out the final batter to clinch the series.

The Huskies are back for the series final against the Badgers on Sunday morning. First pitch is set for 11 a.m. (NEW TIME) and streaming on B1G+.
