Huskies Battle; Drop Series Opener To Nebraska

Sophia Ramuno (9-5) got the start in the circle going three-plus innings; she re-entered in the top of the seventh. Ramuno struck out six batters over her four innings of work. Stevie Hansen came on in relief for her 19th appearance of the season.
Jadyn Glab led the Husky offense with her 3-for-4 day with three RBI. Alycia Flores also had a pair of hits, going 2-for-4.
Nebraska got on the board first on a solo home run by Bella Bacon in the top of the third. Jordy Bahl followed with a two-run homer for a 3-0 advantage.
The Huskers hit their third home run of the game in the top of the fourth. Nebraska added five more runs in the inning to take a 9-0 lead.
Washington got on the board with Jade Bubke's third home run of the season, a two-run shot, in the bottom of the fifth.

Nebraska added three unearned runs in the top of the sixth on a home run by Ava Kuszak.
Needing three runs to extend the game, the Huskies did just that. Glab doubled for her second hit of the game and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Alexis DeBoer drove in Glab for her 49th RBI of the season. A single by Flores and another Husker wild pitch put two in scoring position and Charity Sevaaetasi drove in both runs.
With two on and one out in the seventh, Glab sent out her 13th home run of the season to cut the Husker lead to four.
