Huskies Fall To No. 13 GCU At MPSF Tournament

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Washington fell 1-3 to No. 13 Grand Canyon, the fifth seed in the MPSF Tournament, during a Thursday morning consolation bracket match at Spiker Beach.

Grand Canyon took control early with back-to-back straight-set wins on courts one and three to build a 2-0 lead. The Beach Dawgs answered on court two, where Katarina Pantovic and Lauren Wilcock delivered a composed performance in a 21-19, 21-15 victory to keep Washington in contention.

The match was ultimately decided on court five, as the Lopes closed out the dual with a narrow 21-19, 21-18 win.

Court four was left unfinished. Emma Hohenauer and Sarah Wilcock had split sets and were trailing 4-7 in the third when play was halted.
