
Tarr Earns Career Win 850; Huskies Defeat MSU 3-1

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Washington softball earned its 30th win of the season in a 3-1 victory over Michigan State on Friday afternoon at Secchia Stadium.
The Huskies improve to 30-12 and 8-5 in Big Ten action.
Sophia Ramuno (8-4) got the start, earning her eighth win of the season. She allowed just two hits with six strikeouts and one walk in 6.1 innings of work.
With two outs in the first, Alexis DeBoer drew a four-pitch walk. She was brought around on Alycia Flores' 10th double of the season to put the Dawgs on the board. Giselle Alvarez followed with a long single to drive in the second run of the inning.
The Huskies extended their lead in the fourth on back-to-back walks to Flores and Alvarez in the fourth. Sophi Mazzola brought recorded her 30th hit if the season to make it 3-0.
Michigan State answered back with a solo home run in the fourth.
Morgan Reimer entered the circle with two outs and closed out the game to earn her fourth save of the season. It moves her into a tie for sixth in a single season in saves with Gabbie Plain. It also moves her into a tie for 10th in a career.
Up next, the Huskies and Spartans meet again for game two of the series tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET and streaming on B1G+.
