
Lauren Wilcock Reaches 75 Wins As Huskies Split Doubleheader At Home

SEATTLE – The No. 20 Washington beach volleyball team split its home doubleheader Friday, falling in a close 2-3 match to No. 9 Long Beach State before bouncing back with a dominant 5-0 sweep of Oregon.
The Huskies opened the day with a tightly contested dual against the ninth-ranked Beach. Emma Hohenauer and Sarah Wilcock earned a straight-set win on court five, while Katarina Pantovic and Lauren Wilcock secured a three-set victory on court two. Despite those efforts, Long Beach State claimed the match with wins on courts one, three and four.
Washington responded with a commanding performance against Oregon, winning four matches in straight sets. Brooke Balue and Karolina Majerníková cruised to a 21-8, 21-5 win on court three, and Pantovic and L. Wilcock picked up their second victory of the day on court two. The win marked the 75th career victory for L. Wilcock. Hannah Doyle and Alina Urzua battled through three sets on court five to complete the sweep.
