
Huskies Fall In Conference Opener

SEATTLE – Washington dropped its conference opener to No. 8 Oregon 9-0 in six innings at Husky Softball Stadium.
UW moves to 20-8, 0-1 Big Ten on the season.
Sophia Ramuno (6-3) got the start in the circle, going three innings with a pair of strikeouts. Rylee Rehbein came on in relief going the final three frames with two strikeouts.
Oregon got on the board with a sacrifice fly in the in the second. The Ducks added three runs in the third on a two-run home run by Kate Flannery and a single by Kedre Luschar.
The Ducks added three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth for the 9-0 advantage.
Jadyn Glab and Alycia Flores recorded hits for the Huskies, while Alexis DeBoer, Ava Carroll and Tia Durst reached base via a walk or hit by pitch. Carroll extends her on base streak to 16 consecutive games and DeBoer to 11 straight. Glab has hit safely in six consecutive games.
Game two of the series is up next on Saturday afternoon. First pitch against the Ducks is set for 12:00 p.m. and airing on Big Ten Network.
