
DeBoer Named D1Softball National Player Of The Week

SEATTLE – Washington freshman infielder Alexis DeBoer has been named D1Softball National Player of the Week, the publication announced on Tuesday.
DeBoer batted .538 with seven hits, a double, five home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored and drew five walks while posting a 1.769 slugging percentage to help UW to a 5-0 weekend at the Black and Orange Classic.
In a 3-2 win over Idaho State to open the weekend, DeBoer hit the game-tying two-run double to bring up Ava Carroll to drive in the game-winning run. The freshman also had her second multi-home run game of the season in the 11-0 run-rule victory over Montana on Sunday.
Through the first five weeks, DeBoer is third in the nation with 12 home runs and 18th with 33 RBI. Her .910 slugging percentage ranks 27th in Division I.
On the season, DeBoer is batting .372 with a team-leading six doubles and 11 walks. She is on a 10-game hitting streak and has 13 consecutive games with an RBI.
The Huskies are on a 14-game winning streak heading into the first weekend of Big Ten play. Washington will be back in action on Friday at 4:00 p.m. for the home and conference opener against No. 8 Oregon.
