Aman Named MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist
December 09, 2025 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLE - Richie Aman has been named one of 15 semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, college soccer's most prestigious award. He becomes Washington's first semifinalist since Ilijah Paul in 2022.
Aman has been one of the nation's best distributors this season, tallying 13 total assists, tied for the second-most in a single season in program history. He's also tallied multiple assists in a game on six occasions, most recently connecting for two against No. 4 seeded Maryland in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament.
In addition to his prowess as a passer, Aman has connected for multiple key goals. He scored the double overtime winner against Oregon State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and also bagged the game-winning goal at Wisconsin. In total, he has four goals to go along with his 13 assists for 21 total points.
Aman has already had a historic season, becoming the first men's soccer player to receive a conference player of the year award. He was named the Big Ten's Midfielder of the Year last month while also claiming First Team Big Ten honors. Aman was also honored as a First Team All-Region selection by United Soccer Coaches.
Three men's finalists will be named for the award on Wednesday, Dec. 17 after voting by NCAA Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches. The 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy winner will then be announced at a press conference at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 9, 2026, followed by a dinner to celebrate all of the 2025 finalists.
Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite player. Go to machermanntrophy.com for the men's semifinal ballot.
Aman and the Huskies continue their postseason run in the College Cup on Friday against No. 16 seed Furman at 3 p.m. PT.
