
Coleman Named Paul Hornung Award Finalist

SEATTLE – Washington running back Jonah Coleman is one of six finalists for the Paul Hornung Award, the Louisville Sports Commission announced today.
The Paul Hornung Award is given annually by the Louisville Sports Commission to the most versatile player in major college football. The award was created by the Louisville Sports Commission in January 2010 with the support of the Golden Boy himself, Paul Hornung, a native and lifelong resident of Louisville and member of the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. The winner will be announced on Dec. 11.
Twice this season Coleman has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and was once named the Doak Walker Running Back of the Week. Additionally, Coleman has twice been named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll and named Player of the Week once. He has been named an all-purpose first team all-american selection by CBS Sports, the Associated Press, The Athletic and Athlon.
Through eight games, Coleman leads the nation with 15 total touchdowns (13 rushing, two receiving). He ranks 10th in the FBS with 127.0 all purpose yards per game. Coleman has gotten it done in all aspects of the game with 643 rush yards, 316 receiving yards and 57 kick return yards.
Coleman is also a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, college football's premier scholar-athlete award. He boasts a 3.93 GPA as he is on track to earn his degree in education studies: sports and education in December.
