SEATTLE – A clash between two of the nation's oldest rivals returns this Saturday as Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium in Seattle hosts the 118th playing of Washington vs. Oregon, presented by Facebook.
The Huskies and Ducks first met in Eugene, Ore., in 1900 and the rivalry has been regularly played since 1922, now standing as one of the 25 most played rivalry games in the FBS and the fifth most frequented game contested between current Big Ten programs.
"It is an honor to partner with a global brand of Facebook's stature," said Pat Chun, Director of Athletics at the University of Washington. "Our collaboration enhances the visibility of Husky Athletics and aligns with our long-standing commitment to innovation across the department."
"We are excited to partner with Facebook as they support our fan and student connection to the Ducks," said Rob Mullens, Director of Athletics at University of Oregon. "The Facebook relationship will further highlight the passion our fans feel for this great rivalry."
Between the two national powers from the Pacific Northwest, the programs have combined to appear in four College Football Playoffs since 2014 and compete for the National Championship three times since 2010. The Ducks enter the 2025 rivalry match-up looking to secure their second consecutive College Football Playoff appearance while the Huskies hope to play spoiler in search of a third 9-win regular season in four years.
Washington and Oregon kick off Saturday, November 29th on Montlake with a first-time addition to Alaska Airlines Field, as the Facebook logo will be visible on the aprons surrounding the playing surface on gameday. In the same spirit as college football, Facebook unites people around the world over their shared passions and is proud to bring students, fans and communities together over the teams and traditions they love. Partnering with Washington and Oregon for one of the biggest games of the college football season celebrates the power of connection, both on the field and online.
Prior to kickoff, those in attendance will be able to gather and enjoy live music, an emcee, promotional giveaways and interactive fan engagement with competitive games at the Facebook FANZONE, located at Rainier Vista adjacent to Husky Stadium.
"Facebook is synonymous with bringing people together and creating community in the same way that sports do," said Bill Hirsh, Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales at Learfield. "They are the perfect brand partner to support the athletic departments and student-athletes that engage millions of Washington and Oregon fans each and every week."
As part of a multi-year agreement, the Facebook logo will also appear on the field for the 2026 Washington vs. Oregon contest at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. Facebook's presenting sponsorship of the historic rivalry game was facilitated by Learfield's corporate sales group in collaboration with the locally based Huskies Sports Properties and Oregon Sports Properties teams.
