UW's 2026 Schedule Full Of Challenges For Women Of Washington
November 18, 2025 | Women's Rowing
The Washington women's rowing team will tackle a scheduled packed with fierce competition next spring, as the Huskies will compete in several of the nation's biggest and most prestigious regattas in 2026.
Today, the Huskies revealed their competition schedule for the spring of 2026. Washington, which swept the Big Ten Championships and finished fourth at NCAAs last year, will take on a schedule that will include many of the nation's top programs.
The schedule, however, gets underway as it has for well over a century at UW, with the 125th Class Day Regatta, where crews made up of the various classes row against one another in an intrasquad event. Class Day will take place on Montlake Cut on March 21, 2026
One week later, the UW women will travel to the San Diego Crew Classic, where they'll race on Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29, against a traditionally strong field of competitors on the challenging Mission Bay race course.
Next on the schedule is The Dual, the annual match-up between Washington and California and the fiercest and oldest rowing rivalry in the West. This year, the Huskies and Golden Bears will square off on Cal's home course at Redwood Shores in the Bay Area, on April 11.
One week later, the Washington women will return to Northern California for the Big Ten Invitational, April 18-19 at Lake Natoma, where the Huskies have raced numerous times in the past in conference and national championship regattas.
The first weekend in May always brings with it the Opening Day of boating season in Seattle, featuring the Windermere Cup and Opening Day Regatta, the greatest one-day rowing event in the world. Washington's opponents for the Windermere Cup races will be revealed at a later date. The weekend includes the Twilight Sprints on Friday, May 1, and the Opening Day Regatta, with the featured Windermere Cup races, on Saturday, May 2.
Washington will next look to defend its conference championship when the Huskies head to Indianapolis for the 2026 Big Ten Championships, May 16-17. Last year, in its first season as a member of the Big Ten, Washington swept all seven grand finals to claim the 2025 conference crown.
The 2026 season wraps up with the NCAA Championships, which will be held this year May 29-31 in Gainesville, Georgia, at a site originally built for the 1996 Olympic Games. Lake Lanier also served as the host site for the 1998 and 2001 NCAA Championships, both won by Washington.
