
Womenโs Cross Country Chosen For NCAAs

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. โ Survived and advanced. The Husky women's cross country team was officially selected for the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships today, reaching the meet for the 19th consecutive season. Washington will race for the national title in one week's time, in Columbia, Missouri, in the field of 32 teams.

The women's championship will go off at 7:20 a.m. Pacific time next Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course, with the University of Missouri serving as hosts. It will be televised live on ESPNU.

The Huskies received one of the fourteen at-large bids today, following a fifth-place finish at the NCAA West Regional Championships yesterday in Sacramento. Prior to that, UW placed fourth at the Big Ten Championships on Oct. 31. The Big Ten qualified five teams to the meet.

The women raced to a 13th-place finish in 2024 and were in the top-10 in 2023, finishing eighth+. UW has made the meet in all eight seasons under Head Coach Maurica Powell, and every season dating back to 2007.
