
Washington Signs Nela Jandova During Early Signing Period

SEATTLE β Washington women's tennis head coach Robin Stephenson has announced the addition of Nela Jandova.

Jandova makes her way to Montlake from Prague, Czech Republic where she attended Gymnazium Nad Stolou.

"Nela is going to be an amazing addition to the program," Stephenson said. "Her values align with ours and she is such a great fit here at UW and within our team culture. She is a hard worker with a desire to get better and excel on and off the court."

In the ITF Junior rankings, Jandova reached as high as 92nd. In 2021, she placed third in the ITA World Junior Tennis Finals. In addition, she has eight ITF Junior doubles titles.
"She loves tennis, and I think she has a very high ceiling and will thrive and improve in this environment," Stephenson added. "She is a great person and comes from such a great family and we are thrilled she's joining us."

While at Washington, Jandova plans to major in business administration.

"I chose UW for its strong tennis program and great academics," Jandova said. "Because of the people here, I felt a positive atmosphere and was truly welcomed."
