October 13, 2025 | Football
SEATTLE – For the second time this season, Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
This is the third Big Ten weekly honor of Williams' career after being named Freshman of the Week on November 18, 2024 and Co-Offensive Player of the Week on September 22. It is the fourth conference weekly honor for the Huskies this season as running back Jonah Coleman also earned recognition twice.
Williams became the 16th player in FBS history to throw for 400 yards in a game and rush for 100 yards – recording 402 yards and 136 yards respectively against Rutgers on Friday night. His 538 yards of total offense are a new school record, breaking the mark of 529, set by Michael Penix Jr. vs. Arizona in 2022.
Nationally, Williams ranks in the Top 10 in completion percentage (74.1%), passing efficiency (180.2), total offense (335.0) and yards per pass attempt (10.30). This season, he's tallied 1,628 passing yards, 328 rushing yards while throwing for 10 touchdowns and rushing for four.
In addition to the Big Ten honor, Williams has also been named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 list and a Manning Award Star of the Week.
The Huskies return to action traveling to Ann Arbor for a matchup against Michigan on October 18. The game will air nationally on FOX at 9 a.m. PT/Noon ET.
