Incoming Freshman Jase Butler Joins UW Men's Basketball

SEATTLE – Four-star guard Jase Butler has committed to the University of Washington, Head Coach Danny Sprinkle announced.

Butler, a 6'4" guard from San Anselmo, Calif., shifted his commitment from Illinois in April. The top-100 recruit was named Bay Area Player of the Year at The Branson School in California, leading the team to a combined 51-12 record over the past two seasons.

"Jase will be a great addition to our team next season," Sprinkle said. "He is a winner who impacts the game in so many ways. He is an excellent shooter and strong-bodied guard who is going to develop into a great Big Ten player. He can play both guard positions and provides versatility to our team. We are excited about his future as a Husky."

Butler joins fellow highly-touted high school recruit, Zoom Diallo, in the Huskies' 2024-25 freshman class.
