Huskies Drop Game To Omaha, 3-2

COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 13 Washington dropped its winner's bracket game 3-2 to Omaha on Saturday afternoon at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
Sidne Peters got the start, going three innings with three strikeouts. Lindsay Lopez and Ruby Meylan came on relief combining for two hits with three strikeouts and no runs allowed.
A two-out double by Jillian Celis, a hit by pitch to Brooke Nelson and a pair of wild pitches but two runners in scoring position in the first. Alana Johnson came up and hit her ninth double of the season to put the Huskies up 2-0.
Omaha responded with three runs in the fourth to take the one-run lead.
Washington had a couple of chances with runners in scoring position in the final frames but were not able to find the tying or go-ahead run.
Up next, the Huskies will face either Missouri or Indiana in an elimination game later tonight. Game time and network designation will be determined in the coming hours.
