
Five Huskies Named To NFCA All-Region Teams

SEATTLEΒ β Washington softball's Rylee Holtorf, Brooke Nelson, Ruby Meylan, Alana Johnson and Sydney Stewart were named to NFCA All-Pacific Region Teams, the organization announced on Saturday.

Holtorf, Nelson and Meylan were named to the first team, while Johnson and Stewart were tabbed to the third team.

The Huskies have 130 All-Region selections over the 32 seasons. 2024 is the 11th consecutive season that the Huskies have five or more honors.

Holtorf earns her second career all-region honor after being named second team a season ago. At the plate, she holds a .340 average with 11 home runs and 25 RBI. Holtorf has played every single inning at shortstop this season while posting a .945 fielding percentage with 56 putouts, 64 assists and helped turn 10 double plays. She was also named First Team All-Pac-12 last week.

After being named First Team All-Pac-12 last week, Nelson earns First Team All-Pacific Region honors while splitting time between pitcher and first base this season. Nelson leads the team with a .345 batting average while also launching 12 home runs, 34 RBI and drawing 21 walks. In the circle, she posts a 1.93 ERA in 32.2 innings and a record of 5-1. Nelson threw her first career no-hitter against Loyola Chicago in February at the South Florida Showdown.

Meylan earns her second consecutive first team honor. The sophomore holds a 2.35 ERA in 27 appearances and 19 starts. She ranks Top 10 in the conference in complete games (9), games started (19), ERA (2.35), shutouts (3), strikeouts (137) and strikeouts per seven innings (8.0). Meylan has 13 appearances with six or more strikeouts and three with 10-plus.

Johnson tallies her first career all-region nod while leading the team with 13 home runs β sixth most in the conference β and 37 RBI. She has started all 44 games in right field this season and posted a .331 average with six doubles and 13 walks.

Stewart earns her first career all-region honor. This season, she has batted .330 with eight doubles, a triple, five home runs and 17 RBI. In conference action, Stewart has posted a team-best .419 average. She tied the program record for most doubles in a game (3) at Utah earlier this month.
