Celis Earns Pac-12 Player Of The Week Honors

SEATTLE – Washington softball infielder Jillian Celis has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week, the conference announced this afternoon.
The honor is the first Pac-12 player of the week for Celis of her career. It is the third conference honor for the Huskies this season after Jadyn Glab was tabbed Pac-12 Freshman of the Week to begin the season and Ruby Meylan was named pitcher of the week during week two.
Last week, Celis posted a .571 average with three triples, three home runs and eight RBI. She hit a home run in three straight games including a solo home run in game two against Maryland to kick off a six-run seventh inning in the comeback against the Terps.
On the season, Celis leads the team with .403 average, nine doubles, four home runs and 24 RBI. Her nine doubles rank eighth nationally and second in the conference while RBIs are 18th in the nation.
Up next, the Huskies open Pac-12 play at home with a three-game series against Arizona State beginning on Friday. All games will stream on the Washington Live Stream.
