LOS ANGELES— The University of Washington Beach Volleyball team wrapped up the "Battle 4 LA" tournament on Saturday, coming up short against Long Beach State University 2-3 and UCLA 0-5.

The Huskies lost to No. 1 Bruins at their home court, Maples Beach. UW stayed competitive during the dual, forcing the top two pairs for UCLA into three sets twice.

The Beach Dawgs showed signs of improvement against LBSU, but still fell short 3-2 by three points in the final set. The Huskies won two matches in two sets during the dual. A bright spot came in the play of Lauren Wilcock and Zoey Henson as they held off a late surge by the number two pair from LBSU. Natalie Martin and Kierstyn Barton also took down the number five duo in two straight sets.
