SEATTLE – Raising the bar in the classroom once again, University of Washington student-athletes achieved a Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 94 in the latest NCAA report released today. The current GSR reflects the success of Husky student-athletes entering between 2014-17.
Washington Athletics surpassed its previous best score of 92 set in 2021. This is the sixth year in a row that UW student-athletes have achieved a GSR above 90.
"Our department is committed to a culture of excellence, and academics play an important role in the daily lives of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff," said Director of Athletics Pat Chun. "Earning a degree from the University of Washington is a significant and proud achievement, and we are fortunate to have student-athletes committed to their education. The GSR is just one measure of success and is a testament to the hard work of every member of ICA."
Washington tied for No. 4 in the Big Ten with its 94 score this year.
Nine UW teams led the way with perfect 100 scores: Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Gymnastics, Men's Soccer, Softball, Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, and Volleyball.
Men's Basketball was one of only three Big Ten programs to score 100 (Northwestern, Michigan), and Men's Soccer was one of only two Big Ten programs with the 100 score (Michigan).
A complete and searchable Graduation Rates Report is available online, at NCAA.org.
The GSR is the percentage of student-athletes earning a degree within six years, and was developed by the NCAA to account for transfer student-athletes and mid-year enrollees, and does not include those who leave an institution while they were academically eligible to compete.
