Jacobs, Carter Advance To Regionals Singles And Doubles Round Of 16

BERKELEY, Calif. -- Reece Carter and Alexia Jacobs led the Dawgs Saturday, both battling in third sets, in day two of the ITA Northwest Regionals at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
Both Carter and Jacobs went down a set in their singles matches before fighting back to win in three, each advancing to the round of 16 Sunday morning.
Carter defeated San Jose State's Carla Urchoeguia, giving up just one game (6-1, 6-0) in the first round. She then took Washington State's Maxine Murphy to three sets in her second match of the day.
Carter and Jacobs will also advance to the round of 16 in doubles play, facing a Washington State pair at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Erika Matsuda and Sophie Luescher will also face off at the same time tomorrow morning against San Jose State's Shek/Urchoeguia.
