Washington To Visit No. 15 UCLA For Second Conference Dual

LOS ANGELES β The Husky gymnastics team will head down to southern California this weekend to face the 15th-ranked UCLA Bruins at Pauley Pavilion.

The meet will begin at 6 p.m. PT on Saturday, Jan. 27 at UCLA. Competition will be broadcasted on Pac-12 Networks where Jim Watson and Janay Honest will be on the call.

The Huskies last stepped foot in Pauley Pavilion at the end of the 2023 season, when the GymDawgs earned a 196.775 in the NCAA Los Angeles Regional Second Round to earn a spot in the Regional Final.

THE COMPETITION β No. 15 UCLA

The Bruins have earned two 196.550s so far this season and a season-high 197.100 at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad in West Valley City, Utah.

Most recently, UCLA finished third at the Denver Quad behind No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 10 Denver on Jan. 21.

Washington last faced UCLA in a dual nearly a year ago exactly, when the Huskies hosted the Bruins in the home opener at Alaska Airlines Arena. The Bruins took first place in the meet, 197.850-196.550.

The Huskies opened up their home season against the second-ranked California Bears (197.875) on Jan. 20, where they took second place with a 196.050.

Five GymDawgs earned or tied career-high scores in the loss, starting off with sophomore Lilly Tubbs with a new career-high 9.875 in the leadoff position on vault.

Skylar Killough-Wilhelm tied her career-best 9.925 on beam for the second straight meet this season. Emily Innes tied her career-best 9.925 on floor to tie for first place overall on the competition.

Kristin Lin shined in her three events, tying her career-high 9.825 on vault and setting a new best 9.825 on floor.
