Fowler Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week
September 04, 2023 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLE – Washington goalkeeper Sam Fowler has been named the Pac-12 Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Fowler is the first Husky goalie to earn this honor since Saif Kerawala in 2017.
The senior from Issaquah held No. 3 Indiana scoreless for the first time this season while tallying a season-high six saves. Fowler recorded his 27th career clean sheet to move into a tie for third in program history and a tie for second in Pac-12 history. He is three away from Spencer Richey's conference record of 30 shutouts.
This season, Fowler holds a 2-0-0 record with a pair of shutouts and nine saves. He is one of 17 goalies nationally to not allow a goal so far in the season.
In addition to his Pac-12 player of the week honor, Fowler was named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week.
