
Huskies Start Summer Trip With 92-80 Victory

CERGY-PONTOISE, France – In the opening game of team's Europe trip, Washington beat French opponent, Cergy-Pontoise, 92-80.
Newcomer Moses Wood led all scorers with 22 points on 8-13 shooting, including 4-9 from three-point distance. He added six rebounds. Keion Brooks Jr. scored 21 points and grabbed eight boards.
In his first competition as a Husky, Sahvir Wheeler notched a double-double with 16 points and 16 assists. Nate Calmese also reached double figures with 13 points off the bench while Braxton Meah secured a team-high 12 rebounds.
The Huskies shot over 60 percent as a team and made 40 percent of their three-point field goal attempts.
The group's next stop is the beaches in Normandy for an opportunity to learn about the most historic site of World War II. The Huskies then travel to Barcelona for more sight-seeing as well as a pair of games against Spanish teams on Aug. 21 and 23.
