Four Huskies Named To Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award Watch List

Troy Fautanu, Tuli Letuligasenoa, Zion Tupuola-Fetui and Alphonzo Tuputala have been named to the 2023 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award watch list, the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced today.
Last season, Fautanu started in all 13 games splitting time between left tackle and left guard where he earned All-Pac-12 Second Team honors. The junior from Henderson, Nev. was named Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week following the win over Michigan State as the Huskies compiled 503 yards of total offense. Fautanu was named the program's John P. Angel Offensive Power Player of the Year.
Letuligasenoa played in all 13 games for the Huskies in 2022, making 12 starts. He tallied 30 tackles including 4.5 tackles for loss and four pass deflections. At the end of the season, Letuligasenoa was named the program's L. Wait Rising Defensive Power Player of the Year award winner. He has been named a 2023 Preseason All-Pac-12 First Team selection by Pro Football Focus and Second Team by Athlon and Phil Steele.
Tupuola-Fetui, a senior from Pearl City, Hawaii, played in all 13 games for Washington last season. He racked up 28 tackles and fourth on the team with 4.5 sacks. Against Cal, Tupuola-Fetui recorded six tackles, tied for most on the team, including a sack. He has been named a preseason All-Pac-12 Second Team selection by the conference and Athlon.
Tuputala finished the 2022 season second on the team with 71 tackles. The junior linebacker from Federal Way, Wash. recorded his first career start against Kent State and led both teams with eight total tackles. This preseason, Tuputala has been tabbed a First Team All-Pac-12 selection by Phil Steele.
The Award is presented annually to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry that epitomizes great ability and integrity. The winner of the 2023 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award will be announced on December 14. Five finalists will be unveiled on November 30.
