
Gibson, Houser Earn Academic All-America Honors

SEATTLE – All-Americans on the track, Luke Houser and Anna Gibson are now All-Americans in the classroom. Both were named First Team Academic All-America today by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The Academic All-America honors represent the pinnacle in matching athletic achievement with academic achievement, and is based on a vote of CSC members to produce a national first, second, and third team.
These are the seventh and eighth Academic All-America honors for Washington in just the past four years.

Houser, the 2023 NCAA Indoor Champion in the mile, currently owns a 3.52 cumulative GPA majoring in Geography and Data Science. In the fall, the Woodinville, Wash. native was a career-best 42nd at NCAA Cross Country. He was part of UW's dominant milers indoors with a PR of 3:52.87, then took the title in Albuquerque in March. Houser was 10th in the NCAA Outdoor 1,500-meters final for Second Team All-America.

Gibson earned her Bachelors in Environmental Science & Resource Management with a 3.97 grade point average, then earned a Master's in Jurisprudence with a 3.77 GPA. The Jackson, Wyo. product made it to the NCAA Outdoor final site for the second-straight year in the 1,500-meters, earning All-America Honorable Mention. She also was a Second Team All-American indoors in the mile and DMR, and anchored the collegiate record-setting DMR in Boston. In the fall, Gibson was the top finisher for the Dawgs at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, placing 63rd overall.
