SEATTLE -- The University of Washington has announced the 2023 Husky 100, and two members of Washington Athletics have made the list.
Women's basketball senior student-athlete Darcy Rees and gymnastics senior student manager Ellie Bagley were two of the 100 students recognized.
Each year, the Husky 100 recognizes 100 undergraduate and graduate students from the UW Bothell, Seattle, and Tacoma campuses in all areas of study. The students are evaluated and selected by demonstrating how they actively connect what happens inside and outside of the classroom, and apply what they learn to make a difference on campus, in their communities, and for the future.
Rees, a center from Adelaide, South Australia, will be graduating from the University of Washington with a double major - B.A. in Early Childhood and Family Studies and B.A. in Psychology - and a minor in Diversity. During her time at UW, she has been heavily involved in extracurricular leadership roles at the university and the conference. Rees is currently the President of Strategic Initiatives for WSAAC (Washington Student-Athlete Advisory Committee), a member of Pac-12 SAAC, and an executive board member for Global Pack at UW.
Bagley, a four-year student manager from San Clemente, Calif., will be graduating from the UW with a degree in Bioengineering, receiving departmental honors. During her time at UW, she has been an engineering student mentor and a student researcher in lab.
"Through their passion, leadership and commitment, these students inspire all of us to shape our own Husky Experience." - ABOUT HUSKY 100
"These students are truly exemplifying the Husky Experience inside the classroom, in our communities, and beyond." - ANNOUNCING THE 2023 HUSKY 100
