Klingler Named Top 25 Finalist For USA Softball Player Of The Year

SEATTLE – For the second consecutive year, Baylee Klingler was named as one of 25 finalists for USA Softball National Player of the Year, the organization announced on Wednesday. Klingler is one of five Pac-12 players named to the list that was voted on by a panel of media members and coaches.
Klingler has helped the Huskies to a 31-9 record this season while averaging .400 with a 1.210 OPS, a triple, nine doubles, nine home runs, 38 RBI and 26 walks. Earlier this year, Klingler tied the program record for grand slams with five in her Washington career. Her 54 home runs in the Purple and Gold are tied for fifth most in program history.
The fifth year infielder was a unanimous First Team All-American in 2022 while also being named Pac-12 Player of the Year, Pac-12 Triple Crown winner and a Top 3 finalist for USA Softball National Player of the Year.
The Top 25 finalist will be narrowed down to 10 student-athletes on May 3, followed by the Top 3 finalists announced on May 17. The 2023 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be recognized prior to the Women's College World Series.
