SEATTLE – After a weekend sweep of Arizona, Washington's Madison Huskey has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week and Alana Johnson has been tabbed Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
This is the first career weekly honor for Johnson and the second career honor for Huskey - earning Freshman of the Week in 2019.
Over the weekend, Huskey averaged .400 with a double, two home runs and three RBI. Huskey hit the walk-off solo home run in game two on Saturday to clinch the series victory for Washington. Huskey is third in the Pac-12 this season with 10 home runs.
Johnson led all Washington batters with a .556 average, five hits and four RBI over the weekend. Johnson hit a pair of two-run home runs in back-to-back games. Her homer in the series finale tied the game at three in the fifth inning on the way to an extra innings win for the Huskies.
Washington is back in action this weekend as the Huskies travel to Arizona State for a three-game series against the Sun Devils. First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m. and all three games are airing on the Arizona State Live Stream.
