November 08, 2023 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE β Washington gymnastics will welcome Jessie Reith, from Scarsdale, New York, to the 2024-25 GymDawg squad, as she signed her NLI this morning.
Β
Reith has trained at Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Β
Head Coach Jen Lllewellyn is excited to bring Reith onto the Huskies' squad and looks forward to seeing all that she brings to the gym.
Β
"We're very excited to have her come out and be a Husky and a GymDawg," Llewellyn said. "Over the last two years, we've been able to build a really strong foundation and relationship with her. We've spent a lot of time having conversations with her and her family about the excitement of what Washington has to offer, what we're building here as a younger program and as we transition into the Big Ten.
Β
"She's really talented on all four events, and we expect her to contribute immediately in all four areas," Llewellyn continued. "She has an elite background, so she has a lot of competitive experience there, which will translate well into the college arena. She's very powerful, very dynamic, very artistic β she really just brings a beautiful look to the college world. In her lines, the skills that she has to offer on all events β they're not things you usually see every day."
Β
Reith has excelled as an elite gymnast for years, bringing a high-caliber talent to Washington for the 2025 season. Some of her most recent achievements including finishing as the 2022 Pennsylvania state and regional champion on bars, as well as the regional champion on beam.
Β
Reith has visited UW's campus multiple times since she made her decision to come to Washington and has been patiently awaiting the day to sign her National Letter of Intent to make things official.
Β
"I chose UW because of the amazing atmosphere and support staff provided for student-athletes, as well as the extraordinary team culture that Jen, Cody, and Jeffrey have created," Reith said. "Coming from the east coast, I'm most looking forward to experiencing life in Seattle, and competing for the University of Washington. I can't wait to be a part of the GymDawg family in 2024! Go Dawgs!"
