November 20, 2023 | Football
Washington offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ryan Grubb has been named one of 14 semifinalists for the Broyles Award, which honors college football's top assistant coach.
This season, the Washington offense ranks in the Top 10 nationally in total offense (482.8; eighth), team passing efficiency (168.4; seventh), scoring offense (39.3; ninth), passing offense (358.4; first), and fourth down conversion percentage (76.9%; fifth).
The Broyles Award was created in 1996 recognizing Coach Frank Broyles' legacy of selecting and developing great assistants during his hall of fame career as head coach at Arkansas.
A selection committee of distinguished former head coaches, broadcasters, and a committee representing the Football Writers Association of America narrowed the list of nominees to 15 semifinalists. Five finalists will be selected from this list. Then an overall winner will be named.
