SEATTLE – The Washington Husky Beach Volleyball team opens its 2023-24 campaign with a two-day tournament hosted at Alki Beach. The Huskies are taking on a trio of conference foes in Arizona, Oregon, Utah, along with Boise State this weekend in West Seattle.
The weekend will consist of two separate tournaments, resulting in two champions. The tournaments will kick off with pool play in the morning. In the afternoon the playoff portion of the tournament will be bracketed based on the morning's results. Day one will begin on Saturday, October 7, at 9 a.m. and go into the evening. Sunday's event will follow the same format and schedule.
The Alki Pairs Tournament is separated into the Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions. The Gold Division has three Husky pairs, and the Bronze Division consists of two Husky pairs. The Huskies will also have three Beach Dawgs in the Silver Division.
The Huskies swept Oregon and Boise State when they played them at home last year. The Huskies have an active winning streak against all schools in the tournament. The Dawgs are riding a 9-game winning streak against Utah, four games against Oregon, and two against the Broncos.
Up Next:
Following the conclusion of the only home match of the fall schedule, the Beach Dawgs will travel to Manhattan Beach, California, to compete in the West Coast Championship from Friday, October 20, through Sunday, October 22.
