Nichols Returns Home To Join Huskies

SEATTLE -- Olympia, Wash. native Maia Nichols is heading back home next season to join the Husky Beach Volleyball program, becoming the seventh newcomer for the 2023 season. Nichols spent the past two seasons on the Arizona State squad.
Nichols attended Capital High School, helping CHS win a state indoor championship, graduating in 2020. She played club beach volleyball for DaKine.
She redshirted her first season in 2021 and played one dual match in 2022, getting a win in a match against University of Ottawa.
Nichols joins six more new Dawgs as UW continues to acquire a new level of depth going into the second season under Head Coach Derek Olson. The six previously announced transfers include Teagan DeFalco, Shannon Gormally, Kendall Mather, Piper Monk-Heidrich, Mary Sinclair, and Jacquelyn Strawn.
