May 02, 2022 | Softball
SEATTLE – For the second week in a row, Washington's Gabbie Plain has been tabbed Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Plain appeared in two games this past weekend vs. No. 21 Stanford and tossed two complete games with a shutout to pick up her 15th and 16th wins of the season. In 14 innings, the senior threw 16 strikeouts with only one walk and one run allowed.
The honor marks the fourth this season for Plain and the 11th overall in her career. On the season, Plain holds a 1.88 ERA with 159 strikeouts. Since April 14, the Australian native holds a 7-0 record with a 0.83 ERA, while holding batters to a .170 batting average.
It is also the third straight week that a Husky pitcher has earned the Pac-12 weekly honor. Kelley Lynch was named Pitcher of the Week on April 18 following her performance vs. Oregon State.
The Huskies return to the field this weekend for a three-game series at Utah. First pitch on Friday from Salt Lake City is set for 4 p.m. PT. All three games of the series will air on Utah Live Stream.
