Huskies Open Oregon State Series With 4-3 Win

SEATTLE – Home runs by Kinsey Fiedler and Jadelyn Allchin lift No. 11 Washington over No. 19 Oregon State 4-3 on Thursday night at Husky Softball Stadium. The Huskies improve to 23-11 overall on the season and 4-6 in Pac-12.
Gabbie Plain threw seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and six strikeouts to pick up her 10thwin on the season. Plain also threw her 11th complete game of the year. The senior also retired eight in a row from the first through the third inning.
Oregon State brought in a run on an RBI single to lead off the game. With two on in the first inning, Fiedler hit her eighth home run of the season over the right center field wall to give the Huskies the 3-1 lead.
The Beavers tied the game at three in the fourth on a two-run single by Des Rivera. Allchin answered with a leadoff home run in the bottom half of the inning to bring the score to its eventual final of 4-3.
The Huskies return to the field for game two of the series with a 6 p.m. first pitch. The game will also air on Pac-12 Networks.
