Fiedler Named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – Kinsey Fiedler was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on Monday for her efforts against Robert Morris, Northern Colorado and Colorado State. This is the freshman's first conference honor.
Fiedler hit .500 on the week with one triple, three home runs and six RBI. In her first at-bat in Husky Softball Stadium against Robert Morris, she hit her first home run since the opening weekend. The freshman is on a career-long five-game hit streak. Her triple against Northern Colorado Saturday was the first of her career, and her three RBI in that game was also a single-game season-high.
Earlier this season, Olivia Johnson was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after her explosive opening weekend. Washington has had at least two different freshmen earn Freshman of the Week honors in two of the last three seasons (2021 – Jadelyn Allchin and Kelley Lynch, 2019 – Madi Huskey, Sami Reynolds and SilentRain Espinoza).
Washington opens conference play Friday in Berkeley for a three-game series against California.
