SEATTLE – Washington men's soccer student-athletes Ilijah Paul and Lucas Meek were named United Soccer Coaches All-Americans, the organization announced on Friday. Paul earned First Team honors while Meek was named to the Third Team.
It marks the second season in a row two Huskies earn All-American honors after Dylan Teves and Ryan Sailor were both named First Team All-Americans last season.
Paul becomes the sixth Husky to earn first team honors, joining Dylan Teves (2021, 2020), Ryan Sailor (2021), Blake Bodily (2019), Taylor Peay (2013) and C.J. Klaas (2003, 2004).
Earlier this week, sophomore forward Paul was named one of 15 semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, the top award in college soccer. The Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year leads the Pac-12 conference in goals (11) and goals per game (0.58). In addition, Paul ranks 12th nationally in total goals and 20th in total points.
Meek earns his first All-American nod in his career. He leads the Pac-12 with 10 goals while ranking fourth with eight assists. The senior midfielder was named First Team All-Conference and was named First Team All-Region earlier this week.
