December 19, 2022 | Gymnastics
SAN FRANCISCO – Washington gymnasts Brenna Brooks and Skylar Killough-Wilhelm have been named to the inaugural Pac-12 Gymnastics Preseason Watch List, the league office announced Monday.
Brooks is in her fifth year at the University of Washington, while Killough-Wilhelm will be competing in her junior season.
Brooks has a wealth of experience under her belt as she enters her fifth season. She earned a season-high 9.925 on beam a season ago, while helping the GymDawgs set their highest regional score in program history to close out the 2022 season after she competed in the beam, bars, and floor exercise and scored a season-best on vault.
Killough-Wilhelm also helped Washington greatly last year, helping the team earn their first regional appearance since 2018.
She earned All-Pac-12 First Team honors on beam last season as well as Pac-12 Honorable Mention in the all-around. Killough-Wilhelm ranked top 20 in the country on the beam all season, while also ranking sixth on beam and 10th on bars in the conference.
For the first time since 2014, all eight Pac-12 gymnastics programs are ranked in the top 25 of the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Preseason Poll.
Washington is beginning the season ranked No. 21 in the WCGA poll and sixth in the conference.
The 2023 Preseason Watch List and Newcomer Watch List highlights 16 total gymnasts as nominated by the conference's eight women's gymnastics programs. All gymnasts selected are listed below.
