Jamie Clark Agrees To Contract Extension Through 2027
January 20, 2022 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLE -- On the heels of a historic 2021 season, the University of Washington and men's soccer head coach Jamie Clark have agreed to a contract extension that will keep Clark at the helm of the Huskies through 2027.
"Coach Clark has built Washington men's soccer into a perennial power," said Jen Cohen, Director of Athletics. "He has brought elite student-athletes into his program and has developed them into phenomenal soccer players and people. We couldn't be more excited to extend his contract to keep him on Montlake and have him build on the success and momentum he has created with the program."
This past fall saw Washington complete the greatest season in program history. The Huskies advanced to the College Cup for the first time ever and defeated Georgetown in the national semifinal to earn a spot in the National Championship game. UW finished the season 18-2-2, tying a program-record for wins.
The Huskies set a program and Pac-12 conference record for the best start to a season after opening the campaign with a 12-0-0 record. Ryan Sailor was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, the third straight season a Washington player has won the award. Sailor and Dylan Teves also became the first UW teammates to both be named All-America First Team. In the NCAA Quarterfinals against Saint Louis, the team helped set a program record for Husky Soccer Stadium attendance.
Following the season, a record five Huskies were selected in the MLS SuperDraft, in addition to Dylan Teves signing a Homegrown Player contract with the Seattle Sounders. Off the field, Teves and Charlie Ostrem were both named Academic All-America.
Since his appointment as head coach in 2011, Clark has elevated the Washington program to unparalleled success on and off the field. Clark has amassed at least 12 wins in 10 of his 11 seasons in charge and has had a winning record in all 11. He has led the Huskies to the NCAA Quarterfinals four total times, including each of the last three seasons.
24 different Washington players have been selected in the MLS SuperDraft, including current US Men's National Team member Cristian Roldan.

"I feel so fortunate to commit my future to Washington," said Clark. "To get to be a part of this athletic department is an honor. Every day I get to work with with great young men who are serious and passionate about making the most of their time at UW. I'm surrounded by great coaches who support each other and help each other along the way, and the leadership guiding me on this journey is special. Jen Cohen and Nina Keaney help me set a vision for how to give our kids the best college soccer experience in the country and I will continue to work to try and make this happen each day."
