Teves, Ostrem Earn All-American Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Washington Huskies earned two All-American awards from the United Soccer Coaches today, with Dylan Teves earning First Team honors and Charlie Ostrem Third Team. That duo makes up two of the four All-Americans from the Pac-12 this year.
This is the second year in a row the Huskies have earned multiple All-American awards after Blake Bodily and Ethan Bartlow were so honored in 2019. Washington has had multiple All-Americans just three times in history: 2014, 2019, and now 2020.
Teves is the sixth midfielder to earn All-American honors for the Huskies. He joins Bodily, Cristian Roldan, Mike Chabala, CJ Klaas, and Wes Hart in that regard. Teves is also the fourth Husky to earn All-American First Team honors. Only Bodily (2019), Taylor Peay (2013), and Klaas (2003 & 2004) have done so before.
Teves led the Huskies in scoring this season, with 19 points in 14 games. He went a perfect 4-for-4 on penalty kicks, the most makes without a miss in over 20 years for a Husky. Teves' seven goals were a career high. He had the first three-assist game since 1999 early in the year, then scored his first career brace against Seattle U to earn WAC 101 Club Cup MVP honors for the second straight year.
Ostrem is the sixth Husky defender ever to earn All-American status with his Third Team award. Ostrem joins Bartlow, Andy Thoma, Peay, Ty Harden, and Bryn Ritchie in that regard. Ritchie is the only Husky defender ever to be named an All-American multiple times, doing so in 2000 and 2001.
This year, OstremΒ was also named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in assists with 11. That total was good enough for second in the nation and was the most assists by a Husky since 1998, when Wes Hart had a program-record 15.
