
GymDawgs Finish Strong At Regionals

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah β The Washington GymDawgsΒ put up some strong performances at NCAA Regionals to start the postseason. Four individuals competed for the GymDawgs: Allie Smith competed on vault, Geneva Thompson on vault and bars, Amara Cunningham on vault and floor, and Skylar Killough-Wilhelm on all-around. All four of those gymnasts earned scores of 9.800 or higher. In all, eight of Washington's nine routines earned scores of 9.800 or higher.
Smith had the highest score for the GymDawgs, earningΒ a score of 9.900 and tying for third in the session. This wasΒ the third meet in a row that SmithΒ earned a score of a 9.900 or higher on vault.

Thompson was just as impressive on her two events.Β On vault, Thompson earned a score of 9.875, the eighth time this season that she has earned a score of a 9.800 or higher on this event. On bars, Thompson also earned a score of 9.875,Β the eighth meet this season that she has earned a 9.800 or higher on this event.

Cunningham earned scores of 9.850 on both vault and floor. It was the fourth meet in a row Cunningham had earned a 9.800 or higher on vault. Cunningham has not had a floor score under 9.850 all season long after tonight's performance.

Killough-Wilhelm competed on all four events, earning an all-around score of 39.050. This was the fifth meet that sheΒ earned an all-around score over 39.000. Killough-Wilhelm earned a score of 9.825 on bars, the sixth time sheΒ earned a score of 9.800 or higher this season. On beam, Killough-Wilhelm earned a score of a 9.850, the third time this season that she earned a 9.800 or higher on this event.
