LOS ANGELES – University of Washington juniors Noah Woolsey and Jan Schneider have been selected to compete in the collegiate showcase for a chance to earn an exemption spot in the 2020 Genesis Invitational. Washington is one of three schools to have two competitors invited to the prestigious event, joining Kentucky and Pepperdine.
There are 13 collegiate players competing in the showcase which takes place on Monday, Feb. 10 starting at 8 a.m. The event will be an individual stroke-play competition with the low player earning the spot in the main event. This is the sixth time a collegiate showcase has taken place at this event.
The collegiate showcase also features a pro-am style event with teams comprised of a PGA TOUR pro and two amateurs representing their alma mater. Woolsey and Schneider will be paired with Husky legend CT Pan. The three-man pro-am teams will compete against each other in best-ball play, with the lowest scoring team winning a $50,000 donation to the school's golf program.
