CLEARWATER, Fla. – In a back-and-forth game, the #1 Washington Huskies came out on top, defeating the Liberty Flames 10-6. The sixth inning proved pivotal, with Washington getting big doubles from Baylee Klingler and Kelley Lynch to score five in that frame and take back the lead.

The Huskies are 8-1 with the win, making it a perfect 2-0 day after beating #5 Florida State earlier in the day. Pat Moore earned the win, pitching the final two innings and not allowing a hit.

Four Huskies had multiple hits on the day, including three of Washington's top four hitters in the batting order. Washington managed six extra-base hits, with Klingler and Morganne Flores each recording two.

Washington offense got off to a strong start, scoring in three of the first four innings, with the leadoff runner reaching base in each of those. The Huskies would jump out to a 4-0 lead, only for Liberty to strike and take a lead in the fifth.

That sixth inning brought the Dawgs the victory. Washington loaded the bases, with Liberty walking Morganne Flores for the second time in the game after she homered early on. After being unable to score in a bases loaded situation earlier in the game, Washington broke through thanks to Klingler's huge hit.

		SCORING
First Inning: Washington started the game with back-to-back hits, with Flores' double off the centerfield wall allowing Atlee to score from first. A couple groundouts pushed Flores in for another run. Second Inning: With a runner on, Flores' launched a home run over the camera wells in centerfield to make it 4-0. Fourth Inning: Liberty got on the board with a double and a single to start the inning, making it 4-1. A series of groundouts brought a second run in, then a single made it 4-3. Washington got one back in the bottom half on a bases loaded error. Fifth Inning: A Liberty home run with two outs put the Flames ahead 6-5. Sixth Inning: With the bases loaded and a 2-0 count, Klingler let loose: the sophomore ripped a liner to the centerfield wall, scoring all three to put Washington back on top. That opened up the game, with Lynch pushing the Huskies to double digits with a two-run double.

		NOTES
This is the seventh season in Washington history that multiple freshman have started in the circle. The last time was 2015. Taryn Atlee (2x4, 3 R) started her career 0-for-3 batting leadoff. Since then, she is hitting .500 in that spot. Flores (2x2, 2 R, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 2 IBB) reached base every plate appearance. Since the beginning of the 2019 postseason, Flores has eight home runs in 18 games. Emma Helm (2x4, R, 2B) has scored a run in every game she has a plate appearance this season. Klingler (2x4, R, 2 2B, 4 RBI) has hits in three of the last four games. Sami Reynolds (1x3, R) recorded her 70^th career hit. Lynch (1x4, 2B, 2 RBI) has eight RBI in her last four games, with her last five hits going for extra bases.

Washington has one game tomorrow, against #18 South Carolina at 5:00 pm PT.
