Husky Women’s Basketball Make Educational Videos Available To Teachers
November 08, 2020 | Women's Basketball
Washington women's basketball coach Jody Wynn announced that the program is releasing its educational videos to elementary and middle school teachers around the state as a thank you for all their hard work.
In these unprecedented times with children having to learn virtually and teachers educating our youth through a computer screen, the Huskies women's hoops program recognizes the challenges that our educators face daily. By providing teachers with access to the Husky educational videos, Wynn is hoping to encourage youths to move away from the computer screen and get some exercise, while giving the teaching community a respite.
"As a mother of two, I see firsthand how difficult it is to keep students engaged through online learning," Wynn said. "I also see phenomenal educators giving their very best to help our kids learn and grow as students. Our women's basketball program would like to give a small token of appreciation to both the teachers and students for pushing through these challenging times."
The educational videos are a collection of basketball drills that are instructed by Husky coaches and demonstrated by players that can be used as a resource to enhance aspiring player's skills. "We hope (all) can join our team in these virtual basketball videos to get the students moving and having some fun exercising, while giving our teachers a short break," Wynn said. "We would love to share our women's basketball program with all elementary schools and encourage you to reach out!"
Educators that wish to receive access to the educational videos can contact Jenna Moser: jenmoser@uw.edu. Please note, the videos can only be distributed to elementary and middle school teachers.
