Get To Know The Huskies: Joey Parish

Joey Parish is entering his fifth season with the Huskies, having appeared in 45 matches through his previous three seasons after a redshirt season in 2015. Parish has scored seven goals and had three assists over three seasons including three last year and has four game-winning goals in his career.

1. Why did you choose Washington?
I chose Washington because I am from an area close to Seattle, so it always felt like a second home to me. Both the education and the soccer program are second to none, so when the opportunity arose to play under the incredible coaching staff here it was an easy decision.
2. When did you start playing soccer?
I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old
3. What is your earliest or favorite soccer memory?
My earliest soccer memory is playing for the youth team for my town in England when I was 5, and I was really good at throw-ins
4. Who are your four favorite soccer players?
Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mario Balotelli
5. What is your favorite professional soccer team? How did you become a supporter?
Liverpool, I became a supporter when I was a kid and my favorite coach supported them and influenced me
6. What sport would you play if you didn't play soccer?
Baseball
7. What is the best advice you have ever received?
To always do what makes me happy, and find something that I'm passionate about and enjoy it.
8. What is your favorite place to go around Seattle?
Gas Works park
9. What is one random fact that people wouldn't know about you?
I love anime
