Adams, Harris, Bryant Named To Watch Lists
July 23, 2019 | Football
Three Washington football players – seniors Trey Adams, Myles Bryant and Nick Harris – have been named to two more preseason watch lists.
Adams and Harris earned a spot on the Outland Award watch list while Myles Bryant was named to the Nagurski Award list.
The Outland Trophy is given to the nation's top college interior lineman and the Nagurski goes to the top defensive player in the country.
Adams, a left tackle from Wenatchee, Wash., earned first-team All-Pac-12 as a true sophomore in 2016, but missed much of the 2017 and 2018 seasons due to injury. He returned for the final four games of the 2018 season (thus preserving a redshirt), starting the Pac-12 Championship Game and the Rose Bowl.
Harris, a center from Inglewood, Calif., was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection last season, when he started 13 of 14 games for the conference champions. He is also a two-time honorable mention Academic All-Pac-12 selection and earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 in 2017. He has also been named to the watch list for the Rimington Trophy.
Bryant, a senior defensive back from Pasadena, Calif., has started 25 games over the last two seasons and enters the 2019 season as the most experienced player on a defense that has finished atop the Pac-12 the last four seasons. Bryant was a second-team All-Pac-12 player last year after having earned honorable mention in 2017. This is the third watch list for Bryant this fall, as he was also on the Bednarik and Thorpe lists.
Today marks the seventh day of summer watch-list season as, over a two-week period, lists for 16 college postseason awards will be announced. Here's the schedule:
Mon., July 15 – Bednarik Award & Maxwell Award
Tue., July 16 – Davey O'Brien Award
