May 23, 2019 | Softball
SAN FRANCISCO - Nine Huskies earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors, including two First Team awards and a Second Team Award. Kaija Gibson and Gabbie Plain were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team, while Noelle Hee earned All-Academic Second Team. Six Huskies earned Honorable Mention: Taryn Atlee, Sis Bates, Morganne Flores, Emma Helm, Nawai Kaupe, and Amirah Milloy.
The nine All-Academic honors are the third-most in Washington history, behind the ten awards in 2013 and 2016. Washington has had multiple athletes named to the First Team in back-to-back years now and in five of the last seven.
These are the first All-Academic awards for Gibson, Plain, Hee, Atlee, Helm, and Kaupe. Bates and Milloy each earned Honorable Mention last season, while Flores earned Honorable Mention in 2017.
Gibson and Plain are the first non-seniors to earn First Team since 2015, when Ali Aguilar and Kimberlee Souza did.
