Huskies Heading to Italy for Foreign Tour in August

SEATTLE – The University of Washington men's basketball team will take a foreign tour this summer and head to Rome and Florence Italy, August 12-22. The squad will compete in four games against Italian Series A teams along with getting the full cultural and educational experience with sightseeing and tours.
"We're really excited for this opportunity for our team to not only have a great cultural experience but to compete against some very high-level competition overseas during our offseason," said head coach Mike Hopkins.
The Huskies will spend four days in Rome with two games before heading to Florence for an additional two games in six days.
In conjunction with their trip, the squad is enrolled in a class to prepare them for the trip and earn credit towards their degree. In previous foreign tours, Washington last visited Australia and New Zealand in 2016 along with Spain, France, Monaco and Senegal in 2012.
