Four Huskies Named To All-Regional Team
May 19, 2019 | Softball
SEATTLE - After advancing to Super Regionals for the tenth time in 11 years, the Washington Huskies earned four All-Regional awards for their stellar play at the Seattle Regional. Gabbie Plain, Morganne Flores, Sis Bates, and Madison Huskey were all named All-Regional, with Flores earning the Most Outstanding Player award.
Plain, Flores, and Bates all earned their second career All-Regional awards. Plain was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2018 Seattle Regional.
Flores hit .625 in Washington's three wins this weekend, with a 1.750 slugging percentage. The junior hit three home runs, including her second career multi-homer postseason game. Flores now has seven postseason homers in her career.
Plain did not allow a run and only gave up two hits in her two complete game shutouts. That included a no-hitter to seal the Regional championship, just the sixth postseason no-hitter in Husky history and first since Taran Alvelo's in 2017.
Bates scored six runs in this year's Regional, hitting .556 with a .600 on-base percentage. Bates came around to score after all five of her hits on the weekend and continued her excellent year defensively with a number of great plays.
Huskey had a .500/.556/.625 slash line for the weekend, recording four hits in the three games. She scored twice and had a double this weekend.
